Mindfulness in Art: Plants and Poses
Join local businesses, Flourish Plant Mkt and YouBloom, for a workshop that blends the calming practice of yoga and meditation with the creativity of making your very own hands-on mounted plant. The workshop will begin with a brief intention setting meditation, breathwork practice, and gentle stretches that can be used to prepare and counter the fun of working with plants. Releasing tension around the neck, shoulders, and hands will be especially important as we work into the second half of the program.
With Alicia, the owner of Flourish Plant Mkt, you will learn how to work with a variety of epiphytic plants- plants that grow naturally on trees and rocks-by mounting them on natural cork bark. Each participant will select from a curated assortment of 2″ potted plants and receive step-by-step guidance on how to create a living piece of botanical art and then how to care for it. No experience needed-just bring your curiosity and love for plants!

Join us to learn about the history of the switch tower and the park plans to preserve this historical remnant for future generations to appreciate!
